I picked up this bottle of polish at a local K-Mart during a spring clearance sale, along with some other fantastic pastel colors, early on in my adventure with nail polish. (About January of 2015.) At the time, I had very few creme polishes and absolutely no purples in my collection at all. I was thrilled to find it!
The Color & Finish:
This is from the Complete Salon Manicure line of Sally Hansen polishes. It is a pale blued-purple color. As the name implies, it looks like the color of purple Lilacs. The inside of a lilac and not the outer brighter edge of the Lilac flower. In the right lighting, it could though, it can almost pass for gray.
It went on extremely patchy and streaky for the first coat, but covered pretty well with a second coat and was opaque at that point. There were still a few bald spots after my second coat so I went in and touched those up. It was not a nice even application at all – as promised from the Sally Hansen website. I would never have just left it alone without a topcoat to even it all out.
Skip the salon, get the results. Don’t settle for just color when you can get a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon-inspired color, top coat, chip-resistance and a gel finish all in 1 bottle. Featuring the unique precision brush for a flawless finish and patented Vita Care technology for advanced 10 day wear, more shine and nourishing care. –from the Sally Hansen Website.
The final look is creamy and opaque. I imagine this would look just as nice with a matte topcoat as well, but haven’t tried it.
