This Mauve and White Lace nail look was really quick and easy. The hardest part was choosing the polish colors – and exactly which design on my Pueen27 stamping plate to use. I’ve only used this plate one other time so it was all a big decision. I almost did a rose gold and cream, but in the end, settled on a mauve base coat and white stamp on top. Maybe next time. I think that might look nice with the hearts.
I waffled back and forth between the heart pattern and the two lace rose options – I’ve not used any of them before. And – I’m not a huge lace fan, but I decided to go ahead and give this a go. I figure I’ll do the heart one soon, since we’ve got Valentine’s Day in about a month and stick with the roses for now. I chose the more open design since my nails are really pretty small and this will have a lesser chance of looking like a big blob. Details, right?
This is my first time using some new white stamping polish from Nicole Diary. I was a bit disappointed it wasn’t completely opaque. It did, however, pickup and transfer really well. However, when I went to go topcoat it, there was some smearing. Not too happy about that either. I’ll be using this again to see if this was user error or product issue.
I also used my liquid latex barrier around my cuticles. It helped, but honestly, it’s getting a bit thick so I’m going to start looking for a new bottle.
In short, I painted the mauve on – two coats – and then added the latex. From there, I waited a few minutes for it to dry and stamped away with the white, Add topcoat and voila! I have this Mauve and White Lace look complete.
